THE BEST WEDDING VENUES
GETTING ENGAGED
For me, getting engaged was the most exciting time. It happened at Christmas, on Christmas Day in fact, and from that moment, for the next few days and weeks, it was a whirlwind of excitement. Telling friends and family, imagining how I wanted my big day to be, and starting to browse the internet for wedding inspiration. After a while though, reality set in and I realised that not only did I have to actually organise the biggest event that I’d ever done, but that I had no clue where to start! I often meet couples at Wedding Fayres and I can tell by the look in their eyes that they are at exactly that point too. Think a “rabbit in headlights”!!!
HELP PLANNING YOUR WEDDING
This year, one of my focuses is to start writing some really useful information for newly engaged couples, just like you, to help you start your wedding planning journey. In my 15 years as a wedding photographer, I’d like to hope that I have a bit of a handle on what it takes to plan a wedding, where to start, where to stop (especially when it comes to that runaway budget), and everything in-between.
FINDING A WEDDING VENUE
But for now, to give you a kick-start, your first step is…to find a venue! Until you have your date and venue, you really can’t do anything else concrete. Apart from dream. And set up endless Pinterest boards. And subscribe to multiple wedding blogs. Oh, and pick up a stack of wedding magazines!!! The next step, book your date and pay your deposit. And after that, you can more forward.
Everything hinges off of your wedding venue; from the bigger picture, like what the look and feel of your wedding will be and how many guests will be at your wedding, right down to what wedding suppliers you can use, and so much more. I also know, that finding the perfect venue for you, isn’t easy.
THE BEST WEDDING VENUES
I’ve had the privilege to photograph at some of the most incredible wedding venues across the UK and abroad, and so in an attempt to save you trawling the internet, I’ve approached some of my favourite wedding venues and asked them to share a little more about themselves.
Over the course of the next few months, I'll be featuring each of them in turn, giving my personal thoughts, sharing sneak peek highlight video’s of weddings I have photographed there, and hopefully helping you shortlist whether they might be right for you.
In the meantime, here’s a list (in alphabetical order) of those stunning exclusive use properties, stately homes, country houses, barns, farms and more, that will be coming your way.
Happy wedding planning!
